BJP raises funds for rehabilitation of Uttarakhand victims

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has come forward to provide support to victims of the Uttarakhand flood disaster by raising funds for their rehabilitation.Punjab BJP president Kamal Sharma visited Akalgarh and Clock Tower markets to raise funds from shopkeepers on Wednesday.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has come forward to provide support to victims of the Uttarakhand flood disaster by raising funds for their rehabilitation.Punjab BJP president Kamal Sharma visited Akalgarh and Clock Tower markets to raise funds from shopkeepers on Wednesday.

Sharma along with other party workers visited several shops and handed over receipts to the donors. Besides, the party workers visited the shops at the clock tower market, Chaura Bazaar and Akalgarh Market seeking donations from the shopkeepers.

Meanwhile, Sharma said the relief fund collected by the party workers from all districts would be sent to the party headquarters in New Delhi that would be used for the rehabilitation of the victims of Uttarakhand disaster.

Parveen Bansal, district president of BJP, said the party workers were assigned the duty to raise funds from the shopkeepers. "The loss of life cannot be fulfilled, but with the passage of time, the flood victims can start the new innings of their life using the fund collected by the party workers," he added.
