Resting all the speculations for allotting more seats to Shiromani Akali Dal Badal in the forthcoming Municipal Corporation elections, the BJP today claimed to have resolved the issue by restoring the previous status of seats sharing i.e. BJP-38 BJP and SAD-22.

Vinod Sharma, state vice president of Bhartiya Janta Party claimed this while responding to a media query.

"The list of all candidates would be out by May 22 most probably as the special team has interviewed more than 200 BJP aspirants on Sunday. We have settled the issue with SAD and it has been mutually agreed that both the parties would adhere to seats allocation similar to that in 2007," he said.

SAD was claiming five more seats due to their increased vote bank in the city.

A meeting of BJP workers and executive members was also held on Sunday which was addressed by state BJP president Ashwani Sharma, cabinet minister Bhagat Chunni Lal and other senior BJP leaders.

"All the speakers exhorted the workers and leaders to stay united for the interests of party as these elections will reflect the picture of 2014 parliament elections. State president listened to the grievances and issues of the workers and assured early resolution of all," claimed Rajat Mahindru, BJP spokesperson.
