'BJP to contest on 35 seats in zila parishad election in state'

Senior BJP leader and local bodies minister Bhagat Chunni Lal has said his party would field candidates on 35 seats in the zila parishad elections in the state. Talking to mediapersons in Mandi Gobindgarh, the minister said the SAD-BJP alliance would contest on all zila parishad and block samiti seats and would win elections with thumping majority.

Senior BJP leader and local bodies minister Bhagat Chunni Lal has said his party would field candidates on 35 seats in the zila parishad elections in the state. Talking to mediapersons in Mandi Gobindgarh, the minister said the SAD-BJP alliance would contest on all zila parishad and block samiti seats and would win elections with thumping majority.

He indicated that elections to municipal council will be held after the panchayat polls. Bhagat Chunni Lal said in the absence of any special package from the Centre, the Punjab industry was lagging behind.

Mandi Gobindgarh municipal council's former president Dharampal Rao and district BJP president Rakesh Gupta were also present on the occasion.
