Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) stormed at a bank for rejecting an application of loan under ‘Mudra Yojana’ on Friday.
When Allahabad Bank on Hambran Road rejected application of loan of a BJP worker, the party workers led by district BJP president Parveen Bansal staged a protest against the bank.
Bansal said, “The Union government has launched Mudra Scheme for the needy, who need loan to start their business, but the bank managers have been avoiding sanctioning loan.”
Bansal alleged that the bank authorities have been sanctioning loan to the account holders only and the needy persons were not being attended in the banks. He said that they would file a complaint with the higher authorities in the matter.
When contacted, Rakesh Goel, senior manager of Allahabad Bank, said, “A person came to me and tried to influence me by claiming that he was close aide of BJP leader. He had not even fulfilled the formalities to get a loan due to which his application was rejected. Moreover, the branch has sanctioned loans to many needy persons under the scheme.”
