BJP national organising secretary Ram Lal said here on Saturday that the party's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi had all the qualifications worthy of the country's top post.

Addressing 'Shakti Kendra' heads and other office-bearers at a meeting held at a marriage palace here, he said that Modi was a tried and tested leader whose elevation as prime minister would be in the interest of the country.

He made the gathering take pledge to make Modi the next prime mnister.

Ostensibly referring to the Aam Aadmi Party, Ram Lal said that certain parties were copying the RSS ideology of transparency in politics, to entice voters.

As per the tradition of RSS, BJP workers would go door to door to ask for "one vote-one note", he added.

He urged the workers to work hard and ensure the party's success in the forthcoming polls.
His visit, however, could not succeed in uniting the two warring factions of the BJP. As usual, pictures of Rajya Sabha member Avinash Rai Khanna were conspicuous by their absence, from the backdrop of the stage as well as the posters put up in the city. One of Khanna's supporters said, "They (opponents) did not hide their intentions even from one of the top office-bearers of the organisation. It was a huge disrespect to the MP".

Meanwhile, state president Kamal Sharma also eulogised Modi, saying that Gujarat chief minister had endeared himself with the masses who had already accepted him as their next prime minister. Co-convener Sham Jaju, organising secretary Ajay Jamwal and the chief minister's adviser Tikshan Sud were also present.
