Accusing the Virbhadra Singh government of acting on political considerations, the leaders of BJP assembled at old bus stand and took out the procession to register their protest against the alleged implication of BJP workers in “false and fabricated cases”. The leaders alleged that the Virbhadra government, after assuming power had failed to safeguard public interests and instead of accelerating the pace of development, it was focusing on throttling the voice of its political opponents.

BJP leaders, including Shimla MP Virneder Kashyap, Kasauli MLA Rajeev Sehjal, Vinod Chandel, and Pawan Gupta, said the involvement of the Virbhadra Singh and his family members in corruption cases had exposed the Congress' stand on the issue and demanded the CM's resignation on moral grounds.
