BJS College holds free dental camp

BJS Dental College and Hospital organised a free dental checkup and awareness camp at SS Food Industries (Bonn Bread), GT Road on Friday. Hundreds of workers availed benefits of comprehensive dental checkup extended by a team of senior dental surgeons headed by Dr Navdeep Kaur Sachdeva, senior lecturer, department of community.dentistry.

A session was held in order to educate people about common dental ailments especially tooth decay and gum diseases. Sachdeva said, “Tooth decay can be prevented and one doesn't have to lose teeth to periodontal disease.Prevention techniques may include, brushing teeth twice a day with fluoride toothpaste; clean between teeth daily with floss or an inter-dental cleaner;eat a balanced diet and limit between-meal snacks, visit your dentist regularly for oral examination.”

The team motivated the workers regarding the lesions in mouths and how it could lead to cancer in certain cases.
A couple of dental surgeons and paramedical staff provided comprehensive diagnosis with latest therapeutic facilities as well at the camp.
