With the arrest of two persons, the Amargarh police claim to have solved the blind murder case of 23-year-old man who was killed four days ago in Dairy Wala Mohalla area of Malerkotla.

The accused have been identified as Mohammad Shahid and Mohammad Arshad of Malerkotla town of the district.

The body was recovered from fields near Ratola village of Amargarh sub-division of the district. On the complaint of Sameer's family, the police had registered a case under section 302 (punishment for murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Sangrur senior superintendent of police (SSP) Mandeep Singh Sidhu said accused Mohammad Arshad had personal rivalry with Sameer as he had given statement in court against him in an old case.

On November 2, Arshad along with his accomplice Shahid allegedly killed Sameer when he went to Dairy Wala Mohalla in Malerkotla and threw his body in the fields of Ratola village.
