Blind murder case solved; villager held

The Patiala police claimed to have solved the blind murder case at Hazipur village, wherein one Baldev Singh was found murdered on roadside on Monday.

Giving details, SSP Hardial Singh Mann, in a press release said on November 4, the police found the body of Baldev Singh near a drain. After post mortem, it came to fore that it was not a natural death and police registered a case of murder and started investigation.

While investigating the matter, a police party acting on secret information arrested Sukhwinder Singh, a resident of Hazipur village, and he confessed to the crime.

During interrogation, it was found that Sukhwinder Singh had a family dispute with Baldev Singh. On June 15, Baldev Singh along with his brothers had beaten up Sukhwinder Singh's father Suba Singh after which a case was registered at Julkan police station.

Baldev Singh was a habitual drinker and often used to out of his house at night. On November 4, when Baldev Singh left his home at night, Sukhwinder Singh followed him and strangled him to death, said the SSP.
