Body found near Longwood still unidentified, police releases deceased's picture

Even after four days, the body that was found near Longwood on Tuesday is still unidentified.

Shimla police have released the picture of the body in order to identify him. The police have also sent its team to the locality in Longwood and Bharari but no one was able to identify the deceased, who was strangulated.

Shimla additional superintendent of police (ASP) Bhajan Dev Negi said, "The police have released the picture of the victim. The victim was in his 20s and appeared to be a migrant hailing from Nepal or may be from Bihar." According to Negi, the murderer attempted to remove all his belongings to make it difficult for police to ascertain his identity. The genitals of the victim were severely damaged.

The police said that the victim may have been murdered by his acquaintances over some old enmity. For identification, the record of migrant labourers of the area would be also checked. "Once the body is identified, it would be easy to crack the case," Negi added.

Shimla police have put details of deceased on its blog and social networking sites. "Height is around 4.11 ft and the deceased has a black mole below chest. The body of is kept in mortuary at IGMC Shimla after conducting the post-mortem examination," Negi added.
