Body of 11-year-old boy found from tributary near Amritsar

The body of an 11-year-old boy, Akashdeep Singh, who was allegedly murdered by his kin due to a family dispute, was recovered from a tributary at Sakhowal village near here on Tuesday.

According to the complaint filed by the deceased's mother Manjit Kaur, her son was killed by Harpal Singh alias Pala and his friend Jasbir Singh alias Babbu, police said, adding that the accused Jasbir Singh's younger brother was married to Manjit's younger sister Sarabjit Kaur, who was allegedly poisoned to death by her in-laws in 2011.

The family feud may have resulted in the death of Akashdeep a resident of Harchowal, police have said.

The accused have been booked, but the duo is absconding, the police claimed.

A case has been registered against the accused, they said, adding that the duo is absconding.
