The Border Security Force foiled an intrusion bid on Sunday night in which one Pakistani national was killed. As per the BSF, there were apparently five intruders and when challenged, four of them ran back.
The incident occurred at Kassoke border outpost under the Hussainiawala sector being manned by personnel of BSF’s 105 battalion.
“When challenged, the intruders fired at the jawans, who returned the fire in which one intruder was killed and rest escaped,” official sources said. The jawans found 21 Pakistani rupees on the deceased, who appeared to be in his early 20s.
“On Monday morning we held a flag meeting with our Pakistani counterparts and raised the matter. They had demanded the body, which will be handed over to them after the post-mortem,” said DIG BSF RK Thapa.
The body has been handed over to the sadar police.
