In a breakthrough, the Border Security Force (BSF) seized 12 kg heroin, one pistol, a magazine, AK-47 and 21 rounds from the BOP Fatehpur in Amritsar sector of the Indo-Pak border.
BSF officials claimed that some suspicious movement of Indian and Pakistani smugglers was witnessed on the intervening night of April 23 and 24.
When the BSF challenged the movement, the accused opened fire forcing the BSF to return the fire. Following this a search operation was launched during which 12 kg heroin, ammunition and a pistol was found.
The accused however fled from the spot taking advantage of the cover in the night.
