BSF seizes 5 kg heroin near Pak border in Amritsar sector

“Troops noticed that some people were throwing some packers from the Pak side from across the fence. Our men challenged them and opened fire, after which they disappeared in the darkness.”
The Border Security Force (BSF) seized 5 kg of heroin from an area falling under the Daoke border outpost along the Indo-Pak border in Amritsar sector on Thursday evening.
Addressing the media here on Friday, BSF DIG (Amritsar sector) JS Oberai said, “Troops noticed that some people were throwing some packers from the Pak side from across the fence. Our men challenged them and opened fire, after which they disappeared in the darkness.”

During search, five heroin packets of 1 kg each were seized from the spot.
The DIG has directed the field commanders to maintain extra vigil to thwart the attempts of anti-national elements.
