BSF troops seized 7 kg of heroin estimated to be worth Rs 35 crore in the international market at the 14 BSF border outpost in Adian under the Dorangla police station at about 3.40 am on Monday.
BSF DIG PS Bains said the seven packets of heroin seized by them, weighing 1 kg each, were pushed into the Indian territory by Pakistani smugglers by using a plastic pipe and placing it in the barbed fencing. The pipe bore a stamp of Karachi.
He said jawans of the BSF's 38 battalion spotted two Pakistani smugglers and their two Indian conduits during patrolling. All four of them, however, managed to escape under the cover of darkness.
The BSF also recovered 100 grams of puppy husk from the border.
