The workers of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) on Friday gheraoed the Maqsudan police station to protest against the alleged false implication of BSP workers by the police.

The workers led by general secretary of state BJP Rajinder Singh Rehal and district general secretary Kamal Dev Jandusingha sat on dharna outside the police station and raised slogans against the Maqsuda police.

“On July 27, our workers were falsely booked under different sections of IPC due to political pressure on a matter related to a dispute on wall between two families. DSP Kartarpur Jasbir Singh Rai visited the place and he was aware of all the developments but still the police booked five residents of Bidhipur village falsely under political pressure of Jathedars,” Rehal said.

“On July 24, Ram Piari, the mother of party worker Banarsi Dass was attacked by mighty Akali leaders. On the very next day, in front of the whole village, the Akali leaders passed derogatory remarks to the dalits. We have complained in both the cases to police but no action was taken so far but in this case, we were immediately booked,” Regal added.

“We are being targeted in Bidhipur village by the ruling party leaders because their candidates failed to open their account in the recently held elections,” Kamal Dev said. The protest was called off after the assurance by senior police officers to look into the case registered by Maqsudan police.
