The Budha Dal Public School (BDPS) gave a stellar performance in the CBSE Plus 2 examinations, the results of which were announced on Monday. As many as six students from the school figured among the district toppers.

A beaming Amrit Aujla, principal BDPS, informed that 27 students from the commerce stream had secured more than 90% marks. "The credit goes to both students and teachers who worked together to give such stupendous performance. I feel very proud of them as they have done a great job," she said.

Pankaj Mittal, a student of BDPS, brought laurels to the school by claiming the top spot in Patiala district in the commerce stream.

Pankaj secured 96.6 % marks and attributed his success to his parents and teachers. "I never thought I would top the district as I didn't work that hard. I was only devoting two-hours a day to my studies. For the past two years, I was getting coaching for an hour in Patiala and I used to study one hour daily at home."

Aspiring to be a charted accountant, Pankaj is preparing for the Common Proficiency Test (CPT) to get admission in India's best commerce colleges.

Jyoti Singla from the same school took second spot in the district by securing 96% marks, while Davesh Kumar Gupta of DAV Public School, Patiala finished third with 95.8% marks.

The BDPS school provided district topper in the medical stream as well.

Sukham Shergill, a girl from BDPS, secured first position in the district scoring 95.2% marks. "I didn't burn any midnight oil, but I was studying on a regular basis. I was focusing more on the competitive exams," she said. Sukham has already cleared the AFMC examination, but her dream campus is All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). "I am anxiously waiting for the result. I hope I crack it in my first attempt," she said.

Another girl, Navroop Kaur from Guru Nanak Foundation School, secured second position in the district by scoring 94.8% marks. Harshit Singla of Scholar Fields Public School scored 93% and got the third position in the district. Harshit secured 64th rank in the recently conducted PMET and has also cleared AFMC and Manipal University exams. "I was studying more than seven hours a day and got extra coaching as well. I wanted to be fully prepared for all the examinations," he said.

In the non-medical stream, Vidhem Chabra of DAV School, Patiala took first position in the district by scoring 96.4 % marks.
