A Punjab and Haryana high court bench on Monday recused from hearing a petition filed by a Mumbai-based bidder who has challenged the tendering process for making 14 Toyota Land Cruisers bulletproof for the security of high-profile people in the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) government of Punjab.
The petition of firm, Streit Armoring, was taken up by the high court bench of justice AK Mittal and adjourned it for Friday directing that matter be listed before some other bench.
The firm has sought that its disqualification by the government be set aside and the award of contract to another company, Chandigarh-based JCBL be quashed.
The tendering process started on March 23 and technical bids were opened on April 15. On May 25, the firm received the letter of disqualification.
