Bus rams into stationary truck in Jalandhar, 10 injured

As per sources, the passengers,injured during the incident, had left the spot and boarded another bus before the cops reached there.

As many as 10 people sustained minor injuries after a bus rammed into a truck stationed near Kahanpur village on Jalandhar-Pathankot road here in the wee hours, on Monday.

As per information, the mishap took place when a bus bearing registration number JK-02-BG-2099, on the way from Jammu to Ludhiana, rammed into the truck. The truck driver had parked the vehicle alongside the highway as a technical glitch developed in it on Sunday late night. 

As per sources, the passengers,injured during the incident, had left the spot and boarded another bus before the cops reached there. The bus driver identified as Sawan Singh of Singha village near Jalandhar received multiple fractures in both legs and is admitted in a local hospital. Sources said that the impact of the collision was so powerful that it took 30 minutes to help the driver come out of the truck as his legs were struck.  Deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Kartarpur Sarabjit Rai said, “As soon as we received the information police rushed to the spot. The injured driver was to the hospital.”

 “As of now, we don’t have information about other passengers as they left the spot before the police team arrived on the accident spot,” said the DSP. No case has been registered, he said.
