A candle march was taken out at Kahnuwan to pay homage to the martyrs of Pathankot Air Base terror attack on the 67th Republic Day in Gurdaspur on Tuesday.
The families of the two martyrs of the said terror attack namely honorary Captain (retd) Fateh Singh of Jhanda Gujjran and havildar (retd) Kulwant Singh of Chak Sharif also participated.
Former Punjab minister and Punjab Technical Education Board chairman Sewa Singh Sekhwan organised and led the candle march.
Sekhwan said starting from their first death anniversary, a state-level sports tournament would be held every year in the memory of these defence security corps personnel who made supreme sacrifice while fighting the Pakistani terrorists on January 2 at Pathankot Air Base.
Martyr Fateh Singh’s son Gurdeep Singh Rana, who is already serving as a soldier in the Army, said on this occasion that he must fulfill the dream of his father who wanted to see him as an Army officer.
