Car snatched from brick-kiln manager near Jalandhar

Before snatching Masih’s car, the assailants also looted cash from liquor vend, the police said.

Three bike-borne armed assailants snatched a Maruti Swift car from manager of a brick-kiln at Rampur village, 12km from Lambra, on Monday night.

Masih said that assailants pushed him off the car after a few kilometres. They also took away his two mobiles phones.

Ravi Masih of Chitti village, manager of a brick-kiln at Banwalipur village, said the masked men on a motorcycle followed him and broke the windshield of his car.

Two of them overpowered Masih and pushed him on the back seat and took to the wheel, while the third one rode the motorcycle. Masih said that assailants pushed him off the car after a few kilometres. They also took away his two mobiles phones.

The police have registered a case under Sections 379-B (snatching) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against unidentified assailants. The police said they were scanning the CCTV footage of the area. Before snatching Masih’s car, the assailants also looted cash from liquor vend, the police said.
