Even as the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared the Class 10 board exam results at 1pm on Saturday, Chandigarh’s St Kabir Public School will have to wait until May 30. CBSE regional officer RJ Khanderao said the results of St Kabir had to be held back due to some “technical reasons”.
Talking to HT, principal Lt Col Rattanbir Singh (retd) said, “We had submitted all the requisite details to the CBSE office well in advance.” School administrator Gurpreet Bakshi said, “While we aren’t clear what the ‘technical reason’ is, we have to wait until Monday.”
Pankaj Chandghotia, whose child studies at the school, said, “The kids are feeling a little anxious as their friends from other schools already know their results. But we’ll have to wait till Monday. Wish this could have been avoided!”
”The problem seems to be that St Kabir conducted only internal exams, and did not go for the board exams. They made it compulsory for all students. No option was given. I think the school has missed carrying out some formalities,” he added.
Meanwhile, the CBSE regional office took longer than usual to compile school-wise result of other schools in the tricity as well.
