It was a proud moment for students of 10 schools in Ludhiana, who made it to the nationals in the CBSE regional-level science exhibition, which concluded in city on Wednesday. Of the 80 schools that had put up their exhibits, 15 were selected to showcase their talent in the national-level exhibition. Of these, 10 are from Ludhiana.
Dr W Selvamurthy, president, ASTIF and chair professor for life sciences, former chief controller R and D (DRDO) and a scientist was the chief guest at the closing and prize distribution ceremony.
The venue was Sacred Heart Convent School, Sarabha Nagar, and over 80 schools of Punjab and Chandigarh had participated. The 15 institutes selected would head to Delhi in October for the national-level event.
Under sub theme: transport and communication, four schools from Ludhiana have been selected for nationals. However, two models of BCM Arya Senior Secondary School have been selected.
DAV Public School, BRS Nagar, Ludhiana has exhibited Panacea for traffic woes. Spring Dale Public School, Sherpur Road, Ludhiana, displayed solar roads and ANPR. BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, Ludhiana displayed cyber world. The host exhibited destination school.
Under sub theme: Mathematical modeling, BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, Ludhiana displayed MATHS: a safety hub, Jesus Sacred Heart School, South city, Ludhiana displayed Ren Baserai Math-e Magic.
Under sub theme: Community Health and Environment, Green land Senior Secondary School, Jalandhar Byepass, Ludhiana, displayed Green Healthy Community and YS School, Handiaya, Barnala had displayed Nicotin and its harmful effects.
Under sub theme: Industry, Amrit Indo Canadian Academy, Ludhiana, displayed Industrial bane turns to boon, The Millenium School, Sector 67, SAS Nagar exhibited waste pet bottles to polyester yarn.
Under sub theme: National resources and their conversation, Carmel Convent School, Sector 9, Chandigarh, displayed Allopathy and leaf litter management, Guru Nanak International School, Model Town, Ludhiana, displayed conserve today nourish always, Nankana Sahib Public School, Gill road, Ludhiana, displayed Solar energy a boon for human race, Teja Singh Kandhari Public School, Sullar village, Patiala and St John's High School, sector 26, Chandigarh, displayed Smart school.
