CBSE’s Heritage India Quiz kicks off today

Amritsar city round and Panchkula regional finals of CBSE Heritage India Quiz 2014 will be organised at The Senior Study II on Saturday, in which winning teams of Faridabad city round, Gurgaon city round, Chandigarh city round, Jalandhar city round and Amritsar city round will be participated.

The Heritage India Quiz is being organised with an aim to inculcate among students the appreciation for rich heritage and diversity of our country and the dire need to preserve these.

As many as 20 schools from Panchkula region are participating in this regional level event, including schools from Faridabad, Gurdaspur, Jammu, Faridkot, Bathinda, Ludhiana, Ferozpur and few other schools in and around Amritsar.

Vijay Mehra, principal of The Senior Study II, who believes in collecting artefacts and involving students in preserving the heritage of Amritsar, says he is honored to organise the CBSE quiz.

Students prepared two presentations on nurturing legacy of Amritsar and organic farming in Amritsar to bring about awareness on Holy City’s heritage for its preservation.

Along with the heritage quiz, the school will be organising an accountancy workshop for the subjects teachers, which will be conducted by accountancy resource persons CA GS Grewal and Rakesh Khosla.

The workshop is organised with an aim to keep the teachers updated with the recent changes in the accountancy syllabus/pattern.
