Challenges in field of education discussed at BCM

The two-day national-level seminar organised at BCM College of Education concluded here on Saturday. The aim of the seminar was to provide a platform to academicians, expert and research scholars to share their rich experiences towards the promotion of quality culture in education.

The two-day national-level seminar organised at BCM College of Education concluded here on Saturday.


The aim of the seminar was to provide a platform to academicians, expert and research scholars to share their rich experiences towards the promotion of quality culture in education. While various sub themes of the seminar were role of research in quality enhancement of higher education, quality in classroom interaction practices, reflections on teacher education curriculum, sharing practices to promote quality culture in teacher education institutes.

Many eminent personalities hailing from the field of education, including senior faculty from various universities of northern region, participated in the seminar.

K Rama, regional director, northern region, the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), delivered the keynote address. In her address, she highlighted various challenges before the NAAC for quality accreditation of the institutions.

Prof Sunil Dutt from National University of Technology Teacher Training and Research, Chandigarh; Kulwinder Singh, associate professor at the department of education of Punjabi University; Kuldeep Puri, associate professor at University School of Open Learning (USOL), Chandigarh; Nawal Kishore Sharma, dean of the college development council at Panjab University Chand; Arvind Kumar Jha, dean od the faculty of education, Central University, Himachal Pradesh; and Vishal Sood, Himachal Pradesh, Shimla, were the resource persons at the seminar.

Suresh Tondon, vice-chairman of Punjab School Education Board, SAS Nagar, delivered the presidential remarks.

The selected papers for the seminar were released in the form of a book “Resurgence of Education “.
