15 SAS Nagar people to be honoured

SAS Nagar administration has shortlisted 15 people to be honoured at the Republic Day function to be held at Government College, Phase 6, here on Sunday. Punjab education minister Sikander Singh Maluka would unfurl the Tricolour on the occassion.


Those who will be honoured include, Gagandeep Dhanoa (gallantry award), Jaspal Singh Saini, Jagtar Singh Benipal and Baldev Singh Malhi (social work), Lalru senior medical officer DS Multani and Dr Neera Verma, medical officer, Civil hospital, Kharar, (health), Chandandeep, a student of Gian Jyoti School, SAS Nagar, (sports), Parvesh Kumar (cultural activities), Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) mechanical divisional engineer Jagmohan Singh (outstanding services) and Varinder Singh, MC sanitary inspector.

The police personnel to be honoured for meritorious service are sub-inspector Sarbjit Singh, Santokh Singh, assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Sarnjeet Singh, ASI Lakhwinder Singh and female constable Anita Sharma.

The administration would also honour government schools, including Government Senior Secondary School, Kharar, Government Senior Secondary School, Rani Majra, Government Senior Secondary School (girls), Gharuan and Government High School, Baltana, (girls) for outstanding board results.
