18 senior cops, 16 IPS officers transferred in Punjab

The Punjab government today issued transfer/posting orders of 18 senior police officers including 16 IPS officers with immediate effect.

According to an official spokesperson MK Tiwari, additional director general of police (ADGP), Punjab Administration has been given an additional charge of ADGP Provisioning, CSR Reddy, has been posted as ADGP, Information Technology and Telecom (IT & T), Harpreet Singh Sidhu as inspector general of police (IGP)/ Home Guards, Paramraj Singh as DIG Border Range, Parmod Ban as DIG IRB and additional charge of DIG Ferozepur, Shive Kumar Verma as DIG Patiala Range, Jatinder Singh Aulakh, DIG Administration, Punjab, Amar Singh Chahal as DIG Bathinda, Balkar Singh Sidhu as DIG Crime Punjab, Mohnish Chawla as DIG Intelligence Amritsar, Vibhu Raj as DIG IT & T, Mukhwinder Singh Chinna as DIG Provisioning, Surinder Pal Singh Parmar as DIG cum joint director PPA Phillaur, SK Singh as DIG, CDO, Punjab, Gurinder Singh Dhillon, DIG, Intelligence Administration Chandigarh, S Bhoopathi as SSP Khanna,  Sukhdev Singh Kahlon as SSP Fazilka and Ashish Chaudhary as SSP Ludhiana Rural.

Besides this, Gurpreet Singh Toor, SSP Faridkot has been given an additional charge of SSP Moga.

Education dept to hire consellors to tackle violence

Keeping in view the increase in violence at government schools in the city of late, the UT education department has started the process to hire 87 counsellors to provide help to students. ile 40 counsellors will be hired for senior secondary schools, the rest will be for high schools.
