2 brothers among 3 drowned in Bhiwani

Three teenaged boys, including two brothers, were reportedly drowned in a pond in Garanpura Kalan village of Bhiwani district on Sunday.

The victims had come to the village to attend the marriage function of their maternal uncle.

Unaware of the depth of the pond, they reportedly jumped into it and drowned.

Another youth, who was standing on the bank of the pond, raised an alarm after which the bodies were fished out of the pond.

As per details, the victims, identified as Anil Kumar, 13, a Class 7 student, his elder brother Raman Kumar, 16, a Class 10 student, both residents of Tosham village, and Pawan Kumar, 18, a Class 12 student, had gone to take a bath in the pond at the outskirts of the village.

The pond is said to be about 12-feet deep.

However, when they started drowning, another boy who was accompanying them raised an alarm and called the villagers to rescue them.

As the news about their drowning reached their family members, they rushed the spot and fished out the bodies.
