3 Moga residents arrested in kidnapping case

Three Moga residents were arrested from Sangrur for kidnapping an employee of a travel agent from Phase 8 in SAS Nagar.

The arrested accused have been identified as Bhagwan Singh, Mohan and Beant Singh all three hailing from Moga.

On Wednesday, Gagandeeep who is working as a travel agent in Phase 3B2, SAS Nagar, had approached the police alleging that three persons identified as Bhagwan Singh, Mohan and Beant Singh had kidnapped his employee Dilbagh Singh.

The complainant alleged that the accused had kidnapped Dilbagh Singh in their Santro car from Amb Sahib gurdwara where Dilbagh Singh had gone to deliver tickets to the accused. Gagandeeep told the police that the kidnapping has been done owing to a dispute regarding not sending the accused to Singapore as settled earlier in time.

Acting on the complaint, the police teams were dispatched and the accused were arrested from Tappa Mandi (Sangrur) and the victim was rescued by the police. The police have also recovered the car used in the crime.

“The accused had approached the complainant Gagandeep to go abroad but he had failed to provide tickets to the accused. The accused had com to Amb Sahib gurdwara and asked him to deliver their tickets there. When Dilbagh came to deliver their tickets the accused kidnapped him in their car. Following the complaints teams were dispatched and the accused were traced to Sangrur from where they were arrested. A case of kidnapping has been registered in Phase 8 police station,” confirmed Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, SSP SAS Nagar.
