3 property dealers held for kidnapping Rajasthan resident

Local police have arrested three persons on charge of kidnapping a Rajasthan-based businessman from Chandigarh on Friday.


Accused Youshif Khan and Sapat Khan of Rajasthan and Akhtar Ali of New Delhi are property dealers while the victim Ruchir Vohra was associated with them for the past seven years.

Sector 17 police station SHO inspector Ram Gopal said that Ruchir owed money to the accused and had come to the city for some work. He was staying with his uncle Anil Sharma.

The SHO said that Ruchir had called the accused near the Sector 17 inter-state bus terminus for settlement but failed to arrive at a compromise.

The accused, who were travelling in a Tata Safari (HR-26BW-7790) then allegedly abducted Ruchir, after which Anil called police control room.

The PCR personnel traced and intercepted the vehicle near the Zirakpur barrier and rescued the victim.

A case of kidnapping and act done by several persons in furtherance of common intention under Sections 363 and 34 of the Indian penal code was registered at the Sector 17 police station.

All the accused have been sent in judicial custody by a local court.
