35 teachers found absent in 3 Punjab circles

The Punjab education department special teams caught 35 teachers absent on Tuesday in the simultaneous inspection of 984 schools in the Jalandhar, Faridkot, and Nabha (Patiala) circles.

In the campaign to ensure punctuality and discipline, the teams also caught 51 latecomer teachers and 23 long-time absentees, a department spokesperson said here.

The teams visited 396 schools in Jalandhar, 328 in Nabha and 260 in Faridkot circle.

They caught 16 absentees, 40 latecomers, and 11 long-time absentees in Jalandhar; 6 absentees, 9 latecomers, and 5 long time-absentees in Nabha; and 13 absentees, 2 latecomers, and 7 long-time absentees in Faridkot.

The surprise-inspection campaign would continue, said state education minister Dr Daljit Singh Cheema.
