4 PPS officers transferred in Punjab

The Punjab government on Friday issued transfer orders of four Punjab Police Service (PPS) officers with immediate effect.

According to an official spokesman, Sushil Kumar has been posted as commandant, second Commando Battalion, Bahadurgarh; Iqbal Singh as assistant inspector general (AIG), litigation; Randhir Singh Uppal as assistant commandant, fifth Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB), Amritsar; and Harpreet Kaur as AIG, welfare, Punjab.

Chandumajra hooted, dung thrown at car in Morinda village

SAD candidate from Anandpur Sahib Prem Singh Chandumajra was hooted and cow dung thrown at his car at Rauni village in Morinda on Friday late evening, when he arrived to address a gathering of nearly 400 people as part of his poll campaign. Power in the area was also switched off to heckle him. The fiasco resulted due to factionalism within the village, sources claimed.
