5 IAS officers get additional charge

The Punjab government on Sunday transferred three IAS officers and gave additional charge to five others.

Chief minister Parkash Singh Badal, who cleared the transfers and postings, gave additional charge of secretary, medical education and research, to Rakesh Verma, who is holding the charge of secretary, technical education and industrial training.

Managing director, Punjab Agro, and secretary, sports, Kahan Singh Pannu, was given additional charge as secretary, irrigation. Secretary, Mandi Board, Deepinder Singh has been given additional charge of managing director, state warehousing corporation.

Additional director and special secretary, civil aviation, APS Virk has been given the additional charge of the post of director, land records. Director, information and public relations, Ashwani Kumar has been given the additional charge of state transport commissioner.

Three IAS officers transferred include special secretary, home, C Siban as director, rural development and panchayats. GK Singh has been posted as director general, school education, and Indu Malhotra has been transferred as commissioner, Patiala municipal corporation.
