52 attend in workshop on paediatric care

The National Institute of Nursing Education (NINE) at Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, organised a workshop 'Paediatric Critical Care Nursing' to celebrate golden jubilee year of the PGIMER on Saturday.

The workshop was inaugurated by emeritus professor and former director, PGIMER, professor BNS Walia. He appreciated the efforts by NINE faculty members to organise such workshops and advised the participants to upgrade their knowledge, learn latest techniques and communication skills and apply it in their routine practice.

About 52 participants from various teaching institutes and hospitals such as PGIMER, GMCH-32, Punjab and Haryana participated.

The workshop was organised to enable nurses and nursing faculty to come together and mutually share views, knowledge and perspectives and enable them to develop skill in providing care to critically ill children.

The workshop included a series of lectures related to pediatric critical care nursing followed by hands on practice on cardiopulmonary resuscitation, use and care of ventilator, airway adjuncts, central line and oxygen therapy.
