8 IAS, 20 PCS officers transferred in Punjab

Eight IAS officers were among the 28 senior officials transferred on Sunday by the Punjab government.

Rest of the 20 officers are of Punjab Civil Services (PCS) cadre, a spokesman said here.

IAS officer Sirra Karuna Raju has been posted as Special Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal while IAS officer Gurkirat Kirpal Singh becomes Director of Social Security and Development of Women.

IAS officer Mohinder Pal Arora has been transferred as Special Secretary of the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs department, and Supreet Singh Gulati becomes Additional Deputy Commissioner (development) of Ludhiana.

Another IAS officer, Isha, who is Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) of Mansa has also been given the charge of Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Mansa.

While IAS officer Sumeet Jarangal was transferred as Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Bathinda, Ghanshyam Thori, an IAS officer, becomes Additional Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana.

Kumar Saurabh Raj, also an IAS officer, has been transferred as Secretary, Punjab Public Service Commission, Patiala, the spokesman said.

Bypoll results could impact BJP prospects in assembly elections
