8 IAS officers given additional charge in Punjab

Punjab government on Sunday gave additional charge to eight IAS officers in the state with immediate effect.

"Chief minister Parkash Singh Badal gave his nod for allocation of additional charge to the eight IAS officers of the state government," an official spokesman here said.

Technical education and industrial training secretary Rakesh Verma has been given the additional charge of secretary Medical Education and Research.

Punjab Agro and Secretary Sports Managing Director (MD) Kahan Singh Pannu will also hold the charge of Secretary Irrigation, the spokesman said.

Mandi Board secretary Deepinder Singh has been given the additional charge of MD Warehousing Corporation.

Home special secretary C Siban becomes Director Rural Development and Panchayats, the spokesman said.

GK Singh has become the Director General School Education, while Indu Malhotra will become the commissioner of the Municipal Corporation of Patiala.

Civil Aviation additional director and special secretary APS Virk has been given the additional charge of Director Land Records.

Information and Public Relations director, Ashwani Kumar has been given the additional charge of State Transport Commissioner, the spokesman said.
