AAP Chandigarh unit protests Kejriwal’s arrest

The members of Aam Aadmi Party, Chandigarh unit, on Thursday, held a symbolic protest at Sector-17 Plaza against the arrest of the party’s national convenor, Arvind Kejriwal.


The AAP volunteers peacefully stood holding banners at the Plaza. The members protested against the events, including the arrest of Kejriwal in New Delhi on Wednesday.

The protesters also condemned the use of force, and the misuse of section 144 to detain and harass AAP leaders and volunteers, including Yogendra Yadav and Manish Sisodia.

The protesters walked to the DC’s office and a 10-member delegation, including Roopinder Kaur, central observor, AAP, Arjun Sheoran, Vijay Pal Singh, Meena Sharma and TS Bedi and others went to the submit the memorandum to the Chandigarh DC.

Punjab: ABP Sanjha ceases operations

Failure to get access to cable TV carriage by the leading operator in Punjab has claimed another new channel as victim. Punjabi news channel ABP Sanjha announced to cease operations on Wednesday evening, affecting 200 employees. Management of the channel, a part of the Anandabazar Patrika group that runs leading channels including ABP News in Hindi, cited the virtual blackout as the primary reason for the shutdown.
