AAP conducts awareness-cum-membership drive

A special drive under the banner of "Women empowerment - a step closer to Swaraj" was organised by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday which saw the presence of party candidate Savita Bhatti.


This awareness-cum-membership drive was conducted outside Government College of Girls, Sector 11. Bhatti was accompanied by the all-women team of AAP Chandigarh, namely Deepika Bawa, Daisy Ahluwalia and Roopinder Dhaliwal.

AAP leaders said 107 members were made from GCG during the drive which was run for two hours between 11.30 am and 1.30 pm.

A lot of girls showed willingness to actively participate in the coming election. Apart from that, a membership drive was conducted in woolen market Sector 38, where 60 members were enrolled. The party's local unit also condemned the rounding up of AAP leader Ashutosh in Delhi.
