ABVP declares poll panel

The Panjab University (PU) unit of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) announced its panel for the student council elections, here on Thursday.

A third-year student of University Institute of Legal Studies (UISL), Arunika Mishra will lead the party.

Disha Arora from the English department will stand for the post of vice-president. For secretary, Sahil Batra of University Business School and for the position of joint secretary, Sanjay Sharma from the Sanskrit department have been fielded by the party.

Arunika Mishra said, if elected, having a violence-free campus will be her topmost priority. She has been associated with the party for two years as a worker.

Arunika is the second woman presidential candidate for the elections, after Akansha Sood, who is standing for the president's post from Hindustan Student Organisation.
