Dismissed UT police constables Sunil Kumar (23) and Akshay (24), who were arrested on Thursday for raping a minor schoolgirl at gunpoint for months together, used to administer emergency contraceptive pills to the victim every time they raped her.

This was stated by the police on Friday before judicial magistrate Anil Kaushik, who remanded all five UT cops, booked on the charges of raping a minor, to three-day police remand.

The other three accused UT police constables are Jagtar Singh (23), Himmat Singh (24) and Anil (25).
"Investigations have revealed that the accused used to administer her emergency contraceptive pills every time they raped her. So the custodial interrogation of the accused was needed to establish the origin of the pills. We also need to recover the weapon used by the accused in the crime as well as the vehicle used by the accused," submitted public prosecutor JP Singh, while demanding four-day police remand of the accused.

The police had booked all five accused for rape (section 376), wrongful restraint (341),and  assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty (354) of the Indian Penal code, along with booking them under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

The victim had accused Sunil and Akshay of raping her, while the other three molested her and even blackmailed her.

While seeking remand, the police said, "The victim has alleged that the accused use to take her in the car to some place where she was raped at gunpoint and even assaulted. The victim also accused them of threatening her…..Accused need to be confronted with the allegations."
