An army civilian employee who was caught red-handed while taking bribe of `1 lakh for the recruitment of labourers was held guilty on Monday after 6 years.

The incident dates back to May 3, 2008. AK Sondhi, who was working as superintendent in ordnance branch, was caught at his Sector 4, Panchkula, resident while accepting bribe for recruitment of 10 labourers. He was caught in a joint operation of military intelligence and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Sondhi's wife was also working in Western Command and was a personal assistant to a major general in the ordnance branch.

Complainant Sunil Kumar had stated that Sondhi had asked for `2 lakh from him to get 10 people employed as labourers. Later, the deal was struck in `1 lakh.
