Around 50 hours after the case, IG was on run

Almost two days after Punjab police inspector general (IG) Gautam Cheema was booked for abduction, the police were yet to arrest the accused. The police have despatched teams to trace Cheema and his alleged accomplice, Ajay Chaudhary.

Police sources said that the location of the IG Gautam Cheema and Ajay Chaudhary has been traced near Delhi.

Senior Superintendent of Police of SAS Nagar, Inder Mohan Singh said that we were trying to locate the accused, but did not have any development in the case. He added that we have informed the police of adjoining states and passed the information of the accused.

In the related development, Kricpy Khaira wife of conman Davinder Singh Gill raised the questions against the police for not registering a molestation case. "Why the police was taking to so much time to register the case of molestation against IG Cheema and Chaudhary, though they have all the evidences and proofs against them", said Khaira. She also threatened that if the police would not register the case till Tuesday, she will begin with hunger strike in front of SSP office in SAS Nagar.

For the registration of the case of molestation, SSP said that the investigation was almost complete and the inquiry report would be submitted soon to the senior officials, and further action would be taken as per the directions of the senior officers. 

Meanwhile Maninderpreet Kaur, wife of Sumedh Gulati also levelled the allegations against IG Cheema that he had posted her photographs on the social networking site and also passed lewd comments on it. "I have lodged a complaint to the SAS Nagar Police along with the proofs", said Maninder.

Commenting on the complaint of the Maninder, SSP said that following to the complaint the police was investigating and the FIR will be registered against the person who found guilty in the investigation for committing the crime.
