Congress candidate from the city Pawan Bansal and senior BJP leader Satya Pal Jain came face-to-face at a polling booth in Sector 28 but preferred to ignore each other. Not even pleasantries were exchanged as the Jain alleged that he had arrived at the booth, where Bansal had voted, to look into some allegations that Bansal was jumping the queue. When Jain entered the booth, Bansal was addressing the media.

Jain told HT, "I received a complaint that Bansal had jumped the queue to cast his vote and immediately rushed to venue. I have not lodged any complaint."

Bansal said, "This allegation does not even merit a reply."

Earlier, Bansal had started the day with a visit to the Sai Temple in Sector 29 with family. There was hectic activity at his Setctor-28 residence since early morning as Bansal was expected to vote around 9 am.

Senior party leader Devinder Singh Babla welcomed him at the polling station, when he arrived at the polling station with wife, Madhu Bansal, sons Amit and Manish Bansal besides Pawan Bansal's elder sister and brother-in-law.

It took him half an hour to cast his vote as the media hounded him at venue.

Later, the Congress leader went to polling stations including Sectors 20, 21, 15, 30, 18 and several villages and colonies.

"People have voted for development and not outsiders. The 'Modi Wave' is a farce," he claimed.

On a query on how he felt contesting against two actresses, he said: "Voters want their representative to be aware of their issues and problems and are not willing to vote for those, who does not belong to the city."?
