The Punjab and Haryana high court on Friday issued notice of motion to Haryana minister Kiran Chaudhry; her daughter and defeated Lok Sabha MP Shruti Chaudhry; her personal assistant Hari Singh; and the Haryana government on a petition for a CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) probe into the murder of Bharatiya Janata Party leader Rakesh Malik at Bhiwani in February.

The notice was issued by the court headed by justice Surinder Gupta on the petition of the victim's wife, Anita Malik, who has not only accused the three but also sought police protection. On February 21, the first-information report was registered at Tosham in Bhiwani district on the charges of murder, criminal conspiracy and violation of the Arms Act. The hearing is on August 8.
