Bir Davinder appointed PPP chief spokesman

People's Party of Punjab (PPP) president Manpreet Singh Badal today announced his party's new organisational set-up. Bir Davinder Singh, ex-deputy speaker of Punjab Vidhan Sabha, has been appointed chief spokesman while Bhagwant Maan has been appointed president of teh party' youth wing, Youth People's Party.


Yadwinder Singh Bhutter and Davinderjit Singh Dhose will be vice-presidents of YPP.

Former senior additional advocate general SS Bhinder will head the legal wing of the PPP while Kuldeep Singh Dhose will be president of the kisan wing.

Ranjit Kaur Bhatti will head the women's wing of the party. Navjot Singh Dahiya has been made president of medico wing and Nirmaljeet Singh Nimma, ex-MLA, appointed head of SC/ST wing.

Sitar Bhatti will head the minorities' wing while Surjeet Singh Firochechi will be president of
ex-servicemen wing.

Amanpreet Singh Chhina will head the NRI wing and Vibhor Garg will be the president of parwasi mazdoor wing.

Three held for assaulting woman constable

The police booked a man for threatening the station house officer (SHO) of the Sector-19 police station, while his sister and two other women were arrested for assaulting a woman constable. The police received a call at around 4am that three girls were creating a ruckus under the influence of alcohol near Labour Chowk in Sector 20.
