BJP Chandigarh spokesperson Kailash Chand Jain said the party had consistently raised these issues before the administration. "On January 3, a delegation of the BJP office bearers along with Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leaders met with the Chandigarh administrator and raised the problems faced by the Housing Board and Tenement,"he said.

He also said that a BJP-led delegation had also put forward the concerns of the housing board members before Chandigarh administrator Shivraj Patil as well as with Venkiah Naidu, chairman of the parliamentary standing committee of Home Affairs.

"Venkiah Naidu had written a letter in this regard to the joint secretary of home affairs who had directed the administration to quickly dispose of the issues faced by the house owners of Chandigarh Housing Board,"he said.
