The National Federation of the Blind, Punjab branch, will take out a three-day Chetna march from Faridkot to Muktsar in protest against the Punjab government's failure to fulfil their long-pending demands.

The march will start on Saturday. The federation members are demanding conversion of 167 posts of ETT teachers into vacancies of hobby teachers and Class 4 on urgent basis, besides promotion of visually-impaired employees from group D to C, C to B, and B to A in various departments of the state govt.

In a press release, the general secretary of the Punjab branch Ram Murti accused state government officials of not allowing a meeting between the chief minister and the federation representative despite assurances by top officials.

He said if the government did not take the required steps, the protest would be intensified.
