Former Haryana chief minister and INLD chief Om Prakash Chautala was hospitalized at Medanta hospital in Gurgaon after he complained of chest discomfort on Thursday.

The INLD chief was granted three weeks bail by the Delhi High court on June 3 following the demise of his younger brother, Pratap Chautala. The former CM is a heart patient and had undergone a pacemaker implant procedure at Medanta last year.

When asked, his younger son Abhay Singh, said that his father was in a state of mourning at their native village in Sirsa for over a week. “He was experiencing heaviness in chest for the past couple of days. Being a heart patient, it was prudent to shift him for a proper check up at Medanta," Abhay Singh said.

INLD sources said the former chief minister was not allowed by Tihar jail authorities to go to Medanta for a follow up review of the pacemaker implant. Instead, he was sent to Ram Manohar Lohia hospital by the jail authorities.
