Accepting the demand of the baazigar and taprivas communities, Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal on Tuesday gave the nod to construct a bhawan in the name of Sikh martyr Bhai Mani Singh.

The CM took the decision during a meeting with a delegation of the Punjab Baazigar Front, led by its president, Labh Singh Devinagar.

The CM asked the social welfare department to coordinate with the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) for selecting a suitable site to construct the bhawan. He also asked the officer concerned to complete the necessary formalities in this regard at the earliest so that work on this project could begin soon.

The chief minister announced to reconstitute the board for baazigar and taprivas communities so as to further ensure welfare of these communities.
