Cold intensifies in Punjab, Haryana

Cold conditions prevailed in many parts of Punjab and Haryana where night temperatures continued to drop.


Narnaul was the coldest place in Haryana at 3.5 degree celsius which was three degrees below normal, the MeT office said.

Night temperature in the town on Friday was 6.5 degree celsius.

Ludhiana at 5.8 degree celsius was coldest place in Punjab.

Chandigarh recorded a night temperature of 6.9 degree celsius. The airport observatory on the outskirts of the Union Territory recorded a low of 4.1 deg C, which was three degrees below normal.

The minimum temperatures were below normal at most placesin Haryana, including Ambala, Bhiwani and Hisar. The Meteorological office has forecast a mainly clear sky in the region during the coming 24 hours.
